Costumes, Clothing, Quilts and Whynots

Bio

I am a professional dancer and an original member of EgoArt, Inc., a Somerville based dance theater company.  I taught myself to sew in order to make costumes for a performance in 1998.  Through trial and error I perfected by skills over the years and have recently begun taking classes at the School of Fashion Design in Boston.  I have designed costumes for several area dance companies, including EgoArt, Inc., Weber Dance, Karen Murphy, Julie Pike Edmond, Daniel McCusker, Moving Ipswich,  and Marjorie Morgan.

When my sister became pregnant with her first baby in 2000 I was inspired to try quilting.  Since then I have been making baby and lap quilts using traditional and contemporary patterns and techniques.

My style and skills continue to evolve and I have enjoyed exploring new materials and designs.   All of my work is meant to be moved in, lived in, used, and washed.  I mostly use cotton fabrics though my style and skills continue to evolve and I have enjoyed exploring new materials and designs to create fun, functional items for people and their homes.
